Dr. Amy Guan

Amy Guan received her Ph.D. degree in Physical Oceanography from Columbia University in 2009.  Prior to joining Chevron’s metocean team in August 2013, Amy had worked as a Metocean Engineer for Shell and Fugro for four years. Her experiences include metocean support for all phases of offshore projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Coastal Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, North Sea, Offshore Brazil, West Africa, South China Sea, and Middle East. Her major role involves metocean design basis for offshore structural, as well as meteorological and oceanographic advisory for offshore and onshore operations.
 
Amy has also been actively involved in research and development of the metocean community, and served as TAC committee member for R&D projects in CASE JIP, DeepStar and RPSEA. She is a true believer of technology innovation.

Metocean studies for all phases of offshore projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Coastal Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, North Sea, Offshore Brazil, West Africa, South China Sea and Middle East. Active involvement in research and development of the metocean community, including CASE EJIP,  DeepStar JIPs and other technology development projects.
