Jan Van Smirren

Mr. van Smirren is Partnership Managing Director for the Energy Sector at British Maritime Technology.  He has over 30 years of experience in commercial oceanography and was with Fugro GEOS, an oceanographic and meteorological (metocean) consultancy for 22 years.  Activities ranged from the provision of metocean measurement, monitoring, consultancy and forecasting services to a broad range of client organizations that encompass the international oil and gas industry, local and national government organizations, ports and harbors and associated maritime industries.  From 2013 to 2015 Mr. van Smirren was Global Metocean Business Line Manager at Fugro.
