Dr. Amir Rahim
Speakers
Amir Rahim a Senior Geotechnical Engineer working in offshore oil and gas. He has been working for the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, Houston Office since 2006. He obtained a PhD in 1992 from the University of Swansea, UK specializing in numerical modelling of Geotechnical Engineering.
He worked in the UK as an engineering application programmer developing specialized software for structural and geotechnical engineers. He also worked as a part time lecturer at London South Bank University from 1999 to 2003 specializing in engineering and maths subjects and supervising MSc structural and geotechnical engineering research students.
Since 1997 he has been involved in the design and installation of foundations for oil and gas offshore the US, Europe and west Africa. He is a member of the ASCE COPRI Marine Renewable Energy and currently involved in writing foundation design guidelines for offshore renewable energy.
