Dev Rathore SUT Mentor
Dev Rathore is a Mechanical Engineer with 6 years of experience in various domains of the oil and gas industry. He is currently a Solutions Engineer at Axip Energy Services (fka Valerus) where he is responsible for the technical aspects of supporting a wellsite gas compression fleet across the Permian and Eagle Ford basins, including performance analytics, program management and package sizing. Prior to his current role he spent a brief stint as a FEA Engineer with VIAS, a boutique engineering consultant working on FEA, hydrodynamic simulations, FFS studies and business development. He started his career with TechnipFMC (fka FMC Technologies) as a Product Design Engineer working on the subsea wellhead systems and tools product line. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical and Subsea Engineering.

Something about me:
"Started off as a young engineer in a large company Subsea in India, circa 2012. Some expat assignments later (yay $100 oil), decided I wanted to reinforce my foundations in the field and proceeded with an MS. Graduated to a challenging job market (which seems to be the norm now) and have spent the last 2.5 years in 2 companies - one consulting, other Permian based wellsite gas lift. Rich exposure to OnG, but also working on a plan to make an exit in a couple of years."

The best advice I’ve received…
"Before you leave for the day, make sure you have learned something. If you haven't, turn around."

What can I contribute as a Mentor?
"Can give recent perspectives on how I was able to succeed in grad school (2017), tips for standing out as a job candidate, networking within and outside your circles, and in general "I wish I knew/did this". Can provide some guidance on technical topics as well. I am also an international worker so I bring some perspective on the challenges faced with hiring candidates requiring a visa."

Preferences and availability:
I am willing to mentor 1 student on weekdays once a month, remotely or in person. However, the frequency and length of mentoring sessions will be an agreement between Mentor and Mentee.
