We are delighted to welcome you to an amazing presentation on AI for Offshore Energy. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Nefeli Moridis, Head of Subsurface, Global Energy Team at NVIDIA. Her experience and insights into AI applications will provide a valuable perspective for all attendees.

![]() Melissa Gould Principal - Stress Engineering
Melissa Gould is a Texas A&M University graduate, a Professional Engineer in Texas, and a Principal at Stress Engineering Services, Inc. She has spent 32 years working in the Oil & Gas industry; primarily focused on offshore field development and subsea and pipeline detailed engineering. Melissa is involved with the SUT-US Women in Industry (WIND) task force and participates on API code committees. In her off-time, she enjoys golfing, sailing, hiking, travelling, and relaxing on the beach.

![]() Dr. Nefeli Moridis Head of Subsurface, Global Energy Team - NVIDIA
Dr. Nefeli Moridis is the Developer Relationship Manager for Subsurface Applications at NVIDIA, where she focuses on accelerating high-performance computing applications for the energy industry. Before joining NVIDIA, she worked as a reservoir engineer and consultant in the oil and gas sector, specializing in unconventional reservoirs both in the US and internationally. Nefeli holds a PhD and MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, an MSc from the French Institute of Petroleum (IFP School), and a BSc from the University of Texas at Austin. She has published 11 papers and has presented at numerous SPE conferences worldwide.

![]() Dr. Zenon Medina-Centina Associate Professor - Texas A&M University College Station
Dr. Zenon Medina-Cetina is an Associate Professor in the Zachry Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University. He also holds courtesy joint appointments in the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering, the Department of Ocean Engineering, the Department of Multidisciplinary Engineering, and the Department of Geography.
Dr. Medina-Cetina is the Director of the Stochastic Geomechanics Laboratory (SGL) and a Mosbacher Research Fellow at the Mosbacher Institute for Trade, Economics, and Public Policy. His research focuses on probabilistic risk assessment and management of geo-systems, stochastic geomechanics, and geostatistics. He has published extensively, with 34 peer-reviewed journal articles and 53 conference papers. He earned his PhD and MSc in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and his ME in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Dr. Medina-Cetina has received numerous awards, including the College of Engineering Excellence Award for Outstanding Contributions. |

![]() Barbara Thompson Global Systems and Front End Engineering Manager - Baker-Hughes
Ms. Thompson has 40 plus years of experience in the energy industry including design, project management, business unit leader, business development and strategy. Along with her degree in Ocean Engineering, she also has a Masters in Data Analytics from Texas A&M University. She serves as the Global Subsea Production Systems Engineering Manager for Baker Hughes Oilfield Services and Equipment Company. Her focus is the development of teams and strategies to lower the overall cost of subsea projects using Vendor-Led Systems Engineering and Commercial Innovation by integrating data methodologies into strategy development and long term planning. She was also the Principal Investigator for the development of ASME’s Big Data and Digital Transformation Guidelines for the Oil and Gas Industry.

Dr. Javier Garcia is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Houston, specializing in robotic swarm control. He is part of the Robotic Swarm Control Lab, where he collaborates on research projects aimed at advancing the field of robotics and automation. Dr. Garcia's work focuses on developing algorithms and systems for the coordinated control of multiple robotic agents, with applications in various industries including manufacturing, healthcare, and environmental monitoring.
Dr. Garcia has contributed to several publications and presentations in the field of robotics and has been recognized for his innovative research. He is passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex problems and improve efficiency in various sectors. |
