Join us for the last virtual networking event of the year hosted by the SUT-US Young Professionals Group.

Our guest speakers Ajay Shastri, Professional at Geosyntec Consultants will present “Challenges and Solutions to Installing Large Mudmat Foundation,” and Olusola Ilupeju, Project Engineer at Fugro will share with us her experience in geotechnical site investigation “From field to data.”

About the presenters:

Dr. Ajay Shastri, Professional, Geosyntec Consultants

Ajay Shastri is a professional engineer with over 6 years of experience in various aspects of geotechnical engineering, specializing in the design of offshore and subsea foundation solutions for oil and gas and offshore renewables projects. He also has onshore experience with the analysis and design of foundation for infrastructure projects and buildings. Dr. Shastri earned his Master’s Degree with a focus in Structural Engineering and his Ph.D. with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He is currently working as Professional at Geosyntec consultants in Houston, Texas. Previously, he has held positions Cathie Associates, where he worked as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. There he was involved in desktop studies, cable burial risk assessments, and foundation designs for several offshore renewables projects in the East Coast of the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. He also worked on geotechnical site characterization, shallow and deep foundation designs, and pipe soil interactions studies for oil and gas projects in Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, and the North Sea. He has also  held positions at Genesis Oil and Gas in Texas.. At Genesis Oil and Gas, he worked on design and analysis of offshore foundations, subsea scour analysis and mitigations, and analysis of drag anchors, for oil and gas projects all across the world.
 
 
Dr. Olusola Komolafe, Project Engineer, Fugro

Sola Komolafe is currently a project engineer at Fugro. Responsibilities include geotechnical site investigation; data interpretation and management; and geotechnical analysis for oil and gas, and renewable energy projects. She is also a member of the unites states army reserves working as an automated logistics specialist where her leadership skills are effectively utilized. She holds bachelors degree in civil and environmental engineering; masters and doctoral degrees in civil engineering with emphasis in geotechnical and structural engineering. Prior to graduate school, she had worked on structural designs and/or construction on buildings and railway project.
