Ms. Faulk, Principal and Senior Marine Archaeologist, Geoscience Earth & Marine Services (GEMS), A Geosyntec Company, has over 23 years of experience in marine archaeology, and more than 19 years of experience in offshore energy. She has extensive experience setting up, managing, and executing offshore geophysical and geotechnical surveys in both shallow and deep-water environments. She has collected side-scan sonar, subbottom profiler, multibeam bathymetry, magnetometer and gradiometer geophysical data as well as piston and box core geotechnical data. Ms. Faulk has worked with clients and survey companies to define geophysical and geotechnical scopes of work that accommodate the location, vessel, budget, water depth, and project needs.

Ms. Faulk has expertise in managing offshore surveys and personnel from planning phases through geophysical/geotechnical data collection, interpreting high resolution conventional and AUV geophysical data, diver assisted surveys, ROV target investigations, historic data interpretations, offshore operations, logistics, offshore QA/QC, project management, shallow water geophysical operations, archaeological excavation, and archaeological assessments. She has worked on sites from Maine to Alaska, and Suriname to Mozambique, over the last twenty years providing project management, offshore QA/QC, dive support, excavation, conservation, and archaeological interpretations of submerged cultural resources. Ms. Faulk’s experience includes shallow water survey and interpretation in addition to deepwater identification and excavation of significant shipwrecks.

As a Principal and Senior Marine Archaeologist with GEMS/Geosyntec, she manages Geosyntec’s marine archaeological practice in Houston, Texas. She oversees and reviews projects for marine archaeological site investigations, desktop studies, AUV and towed HRG surveys, diver surveys and ROV surveys as needed by BOEM/BSEE. More recent studies have also included offshore wind, carbon capture, and decommissioning studies.
