In the late years hydrogen has become a hot topic. More and more stakeholders are expressing an interest and especially about green hydrogen. Green hydrogen appears as a mean to decarbonate many sectors of our economy such as transportation, heating, electricity value chain, etc Producing large amount of green hydrogen to match the demand is a big challenge and require large powerplants with renewable means of production. Offshore wind is growing recently and could be one of the ways to produce large amount of electricity that could enable mass production of green hydrogen. However, offshore production of hydrogen is still in its premises and bring peculiarities specially when it comes to the risks regarding production, storage and transportation.
Overview:
  • Why offshore production of hydrogen?
  • What are the options for offshore hydrogen?
  • What are the risks?
  • How these risks are challenging the development of offshore hydrogen?
