The SUT-US invites you to the Decarbonization of Offshore Operations Workshop. The global endeavor to combat climate change has intensified the focus on decarbonizing industries across the spectrum, and the maritime sector in particular is no exception. Presenters

Richard Barratt
Richard is a mechanical engineer with 30 years’ experience in subsea engineering, mainly focused on delivering subsea production systems for the Oil and Gas Industry. He is currently the Technical Sales Manager for Siemens Energy based in Houston Texas. Originally from the UK, he moved to Houston in 1997 for a 6 month assignment and never went home. Barratt holds a BSC from the University of Durham and an MSC from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He is a chartered mechanical engineer, is Chairman of the API 17Z committee on subsea medium voltage power systems and holds four patents. |

Carlos Quant
Carlos joined bp in 2006 and has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. He has served in various leadership roles within engineering, production operations, executive office, transformation and change management across onshore US, Gulf of Mexico, Azerbaijan, Latin America and global engineering and HSE&C functions. He currently holds the position of Global Programme Manager for Operated Carbon Emissions where he manages and integrates a global programme of initiatives operationalising bp’s Net Zero aims focusing on Scope 1 and 2 emissions including methane. Carlos is a native Spanish speaker, has a master’s in chemical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University. |

Andy Hill
Andy W. Hill is the Engineering Technical Authority for Marine Geohazards for BP. He is currently Chair of the OSIG Houston Committee, having been the founder of the committee in 2007. He has been a member of the UK equivalent committee since 1990. He was made a Fellow of the SUT in 2020. He has 38 years of experience in Geophysical Site Investigation, the last 32 with BP. In 1997 he championed the introduction of AUVs into deep water site investigation triggering a step change in deliver after their introduction in 2000-01. He has worked on projects globally and introduced or championed some of the most significant developments in geophysical site investigation. He has published widely on the subject and been director or contributor to numerous industry documents. |

Mark Andrews
Mark has nearly 30 years of engineering and project management experience in the energy industry, particularly with deepwater oil and gas field developments. Mark has managed energy projects through the entire project life cycle during his career, splitting his time between operators (Murphy / Hess / Maersk Oil / Reliance) and engineering contractors / consultants. He holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University (U.K.) and is a licensed Professional Engineer and Project Management Professional (PMP). Mark currently heads up Crondall’s Americas footprint where he has expanded his expertise to include renewables, energy abatement and other energy transition technologies. |
